Elementary

We enjoy working with elementary school students to help them develop foundational skills that will help them throughout their entire academic career. We make learning FUN. We play a lot of games and keep things moving in order to keep them engaged. If your child is struggling in one of the following areas or is resistant to doing homework, we’d love to help.

  • Reading (Including dyslexia tutoring. Taylor has specialized training in Heggerty, Lindamood-Bell, and Orton Gillingham methods)
  • Math
  • Handwriting and typing

Middle School / Jr. High

Middle school is a big transition for a lot of kids. Some kids have never been taught organizational skills, or the skills just don’t come naturally. Frequently, parents have forgotten how to do some of the math or other homework their middle schoolers are being assigned. Tweens and teens often want to assert their independence and resist parental involvement in homework. We’d love to help your child with homework, study skills, and organization. Subjects we tutor at this age:

  • General homework help in all subjects except world languages
  • Math
  • Science
  • English
  • History
  • Executive function support: planning their time, breaking down long-range assignments into manageable pieces, organization strategies
  • Study skills: how to study for tests, note-taking strategies
  • Handwriting and typing
  • Reading
  • Writing essays and research papers
